ON THE OTHER SIDE is a living portrait of the aging woman as her “youngness” slips away. Based on a poem by Natalie H. Rogers, the film interweaves voice, animation and music to lay bare the essence of a woman’s vanishing youth; her aging process is irrevocable revealing a deeply fragile and touching reality.
I had seen the film several times before, but this time it really struck me like a bolt of light how artfully you have granted us the viewers the privilege of actually entering into the lives and histories of these women artists. It was such a tender and yet powerful statement revealing the life force that thrusts itself in their need to create. A momentary glimpse into the soul of the artist, in such an authentic and beautifully presented manner. To grow old and to continue speaking out through their art. And you put it ll together so artfully .The choices you made for the stops and start, the personal sharing and then the presentation of the the art. It was inspiring.
